Anna Kendrick in Talks to Star in Romantic Comedy 'Pitch Perfect' (Exclusive)

The project is set in the world of collegiate a cappella groups.

Anna Kendrick is in negotiations to star in Pitch Perfect, the Gold Circle romantic comedy set in the world of collegiate a cappella groups. Universal is distributing.

The project will be directed by Jason Moore (Avenue Q) and is based on the nonfiction book written by GQmagazine's Mickey Rapkin.

Rebel Wilson, one of the breakouts ofBridesmaids, is already cast in the project, which revolves around a goth-like and rebellious student (Kendrick), unhappy to be at a school at which her father is a professor, who discovers her voice and becomes the secret weapon for the school’s female a cappella group.

The modestly-budgeted pic is to being shooting this fall in New Orleans. Sources caution that Kendrick’s deal is still in the early stages.

The role could serve a nice 180 for Kendrick, who has made a name for herself playing self-assured Type A personalities. She was nominated for an Oscar for her performance in Up In the Air, played the high-achieving human best friend of Bella in the Twilight movies and was last seen as the goal-oriented sister of Scott Pilgrim in Scott Pilgrim vs the World.

The CAA-repped actress next appears with in 50/50 withJoseph Godron-Levitt and Seth Rogen.

LOOSIES producer says Peter Facinelli played Bobby "brilliantly"

EAST GREENWICH, RI--(Marketwire - Aug 31, 2011) - Beverly Hills-based international sales company Cinema Management Group (CMG) and Rhode Island Producer Chad A. Verdi, through his company Verdi Productions, announced today that CMG will be selling actor/writer/producer Peter Facinelli's Manhattan-set thriller / romantic drama, Loosies, next month in Toronto. CMG will be screening the film in a special venue for buyers near the Festival. The deal between CMG and Verdi Productions was brokered by UTA's Bec Smith over the summer.

Directed by Michael Corrente (American Buffalo, Brooklyn Rules), Loosies stars Facinelli (Twilight,Nurse Jackie, The Scorpion King), Jaimie Alexander (Thor, Rest Stop, Hallowed Ground), Vincent Gallo (Buffalo '66, The Brown Bunny, Tetro), Michael Madsen (Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill Vol. 1 & 2) and Joe Pantoliano (Memento, The Matrix, The Fugitive). Facinelli is the screenwriter and a producer on the film (through his shingle Facinelli Films), alongside producers Chad A. Verdi, Noah Kraft, and Glenn Ciano. Original soundtrack is composed and performed by American Idol alumni Paul McDonald with an original score by Chad Fischer (Garden State).

In Loosies, Bobby (Facinelli) is a NYC pickpocket passing as a Wall Street Stockbroker who roams the city looking for marks. He tempts fate with the long arm of the law by lifting the badge of a NYC Detective (Michael Madsen) much to the annoyance of his viciously manipulative fence (Vincent Gallo). While playing this dangerous game of cat and mouse, Bobby runs into an even bigger challenge: a recent one-night-stand with a girl named Lucy (Jaimie Alexander). Three months after their passionate night, Bobby must face reality when Lucy informs him she's pregnant, and the baby is his. "The Twilight juggernaut might be reaching its epic climax but the gazillion dollar-grossing film franchise’s other sexy vampire, Kellan Lutz, isn’t about to slow the pace for anyone. And conquering Hollywood is just the start of this ripped Renaissance man’s ambitions…

Someone obviously missed a few classes at celebrity training school. Famous people are supposed to show up 10, 15, even 45 minutes late for a meeting of this sort, but Kellan Lutz is waiting around outside when I arrive 10 minutes early. His two hapless-looking dogs, Kola and Kevin (“I got Kola at the pound when I broke up with my first girlfriend, and Kevin we found on the street.”) are sniffing at their master’s ankles. Oh, and we’re at his house. The famous never let you come to their house.

Lutz, 26, gives the first impression not so much of a movie star or A-list model, even though he appears as the god Poseidon in the sabre-clanking 3-D epic Immortals, and on billboards as big as your apartment building for Calvin Klein’s X underwear line (he also plays a vampire in the moderately successful Twilight film franchise, the final installment of which opens in November).

Rather, at 6’1” and resplendently rippled, Lutz looks like a guy sent from some super-race of humanity to kick your arse. Well, mine specifically. He’s quite affable but his black sleeveless tank top fits so tightly against his sculpted torso, it’s a wonder the material holds. He’s wearing fingerless black lifting gloves. His black mesh shorts flex around thighs that bulge like rotisserie chickens. His calves, under black knee-high tube socks, are bowling pins stuffed into size-12 Nikes."

Julia Jones Calls 'Twilight' Wolf Pack a Boys' Club

You might think you understand the plight of a woman in traditionally male-dominated fields -- but none of them have anything onJulia Jones.

The actress and model joined "The Twilight Saga" in "Eclipse" as Leah Clearwater, the first (and only) female werewolf in the history of the Quileute tribe. Jones tells NextMovie exclusively in a pre-"Breaking Dawn" chat what it's like to infiltrate the boys' club.

"I felt so privy to their conversations, they literally stopped censoring themselves around me," Jones says of Taylor Lautner, Boo Boo Stewart and the rest. "At a certain point...  they said, 'We're just not going to try to clean this up at all for you.'

"It's mostly fun and it's a little bit sometimes like… you want to puke. [Laughs] But for the most part, it's really wonderful."

Taylor Lautner and Dwayne Johnson Could Duel in 'Goliath'

The Jacob Black of the 'Twilight Saga' movie series is allegedly offered the role of David, while the wrestler/actor who is also known as The Rock may portray the titular character.


Two Hollywood hunks have been mentioned to take the lead roles in "Goliath". It has been reported thatTaylor Lautner and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will portray David and Goliath in the Scott Derrickson-directed film.

According to Twitch, Relativity Media which develop the project have offered the role of the brave young shepherd to the Jacob Black of the "Twilight Saga". It is not a big surprise considering that "Twilight" producers Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey are also producing this epic project. As for "Faster" actor Johnson, he is reportedly in talks with the studio to play the massive Philistine warrior.
