Gossip Cop: Kristen Stewart/ Snow White Rumor Update

"For days, rumors have flown about which young actress will play the title role inSnow White and the Huntsman.

Kristen Stewart is most frequently discussed for the fairy tale role, but now Selena Gomez has become part of the speculation, thanks to certain outlets.

So where does the production actuallystand?

Here’s what we know.

A source familiar with the Snow Whiteproject confirms to Gossip Cop that Stewart is “someone of interest” and currently on the studio’s list.

(Not surprising.)

As for Gomez, however, we’re told her name has not been in the mix at all, and that rumors about her auditioning for the role are inaccurate.

There have been no negotiations with anyone yet.

Gossip Cop will keep updating as the story evolves."

Summit Entertainment To Bring Frankenstein To Life

Summit Entertainment's already worked box office magic with vampires and werewolves, but can they do the same for Frankenstein (the mad scientist, not the monster)? According to Deadline, the studio behind "The Twilight Saga" has acquired the screen rights to the upcoming YA novel "This Dark Endeavor: The Apprenticeship of Victor Frankenstein" by Kenneth Oppel, which hits bookstores August 23.

The novel is a prequel of sorts to Mary Shelley's classic "Frankenstein." The plot centers around young Victor Frankenstein and his quest to save sick twin brother Konrad. He seeks help from a mysterious alchemist, who sends Victor and his friend Elizabeth on a dangerous journey to find the three ingredients needed to create a serum called the Elixir of Life that will heal Konrad. Like any YA novel worth its salt, the inevitable love triangle ensues.

Though this novel details the back story of Dr. Frankenstein's youth (read: a big green guy likely won't be chased by torch-wielding villagers), it sounds like there will be plenty of supernatural elements to keep fans of series like "Twilight" entertained.

Whether or not "Dark Endeavors" ultimately finds its way to the big screen, I know what'll be on my to-read list come August. Here's hoping this book is as intriguing and imaginative as it sounds!

The duo were spotted out in Baton Rouge over the weekend and stopped by Ichiban Japanese Grill and Sushi Bar for a late night dinner date.

The manager revealed to People mag about the duo’s dinner, “They each had a Hibachi meal and some sushi. The kitchen crew and wait staff were excited to see them. Some of them stayed late because they were hoping to get their picture.”

He continued, “I don’t watch the Twilight movies, so I wasn’t so familiar with them, but everyone else in the restaurant knew who they were. I have to say, they were very nice. I think they’ll come back.”

Lee MacDougall "If Walls Could Talk" Tour Starts February 25th

British singer-songwriter-guitarist Lee MacDougall, the newest artist to emerge out of London's burgeoning acoustic movement, is set for his first tour of the U.S. beginning February 25 in New York City.  The tour will criss-corss the country over a two-month period and will include MacDougall's debut appearance at the SxSW Festival in Austin in March.

is releasing an 11-song self-produced CD called IF WALLS COULD TALK to coincide with the tour.  The CD includes the standout tracks "The Star Hotel" and "Joanna," among others.  BBC Radio 6 host Tom Robinson says of MacDougall: "You absolutely cannot fake that kind of sincerity and passion, and particularly the yearning quality to his vocals."

Additionally, noted producer Jim Lowe (who has worked with the Stereophonics, Taylor Swift and the Charlatans, among others) has produced several tracks with Lee, including the version of "She" that is currently available from iTunes as part of a three-song EP he released last summer.  An acoustic rendition of the song produced by Lee appears on IF WALLS COULD TALK.

Originally from the fishing town of Grimsby in the north of England, MacDougall has been performing on the open mic night circuit in London that has spawned new acoustic English artists in the last two years.  His ability to couple a strong lyrical narrative with a memorable melody has enabled him to establish an international fan base that expanded when his music was embraced by the community of fans of the Twilight films. But it is the strength of his songwriting that has earned him UK industry recognition and support slots with artists such as Train, Starsailor, Paolo Nutini, The Feeling, Bob Dylan and Van Morrison.  Word Magazine review editor Kate Mossman says:  "He's amazing and very confident. Like Freddie Mercury meets Rufus Wainwright.  He's going to go a long way."

For his U.S. tour dates, he will be accompanied by Rob Hargreaves on guitar and backing vocals.

Robert Pattinson wears wedding ring on ‘Breaking Dawn’ set

Robert Pattinson was spotted yesterday on the set of “Breaking Dawn” in Baton Rouge wearing a wedding ring.

The “Twilight” star was seen on set alongside cast members Peter Facinelli, Kellen Lutz and “Twilight” author Stephenie Meyer.

Although Kristen Stewart was nowhere to be seen, she must have been close-by with her on-screen husband wearing a ring, which suggests the couple were shooting scenes together.

Although Rob has been busy filming, he was spotted over the weekend out and about, much to the delighted of fans.

“A couple of girls who work in here are young … and they were absolutely star struck,” a source at Maxwell’s Market, where the actor dropped in for sandwiches, told People magazine.

“He’s just a regular guy, and that’s how we try to treat him,” said the source.

Ashley Greene in an `amazing place`

Ashley Greene has revealed that she is in an 'amazing place' with her career.

The 23-year-old actress, who plays Alice Cullen in The Twilight series, said that she doesn't want to take any time off work at the moment as 'doors are being opened' for her.

She told Teen Vogue, 'When I feel like I'm not doing something, it drives me insane. Right now I'm in this amazing place, and there are open doors. I think it would be foolish to take a month off.

'So many people would kill to be in my shoes that it's just bad karma!'

She added that she bonded with Miley Cyrus whilst starring on LOL: Laughing Out Loud together.

'She's young, but we could relate to each other because she's probably been through as much as a 40-year-old.' she said.

True Blood's James Frain wants to swap vampire tips with Robert Pattinson

James Frain True Blood pic1.jpg
BRITISH actor James Frain, who has arrived in True Blood's Bon Temps as bloodsucking baddie Franklin Mott, says he wants to swap vampire tips with Twilight's Robert Pattinson.

Frain appears alongside Pattinson in the upcoming film adaptation of circus tale Water For Elephants.
But he regrets that they didn't get chance to talk about their more toothy roles.

Frain says: "I did have scenes with Robert in Water for Elephants but I'm sorry to say we didn't swap vampire stories. I wish we had, people can't believe there's going to be a scene in the movie with a Twilight vampire talking to a True Blood vampire and that we didn't spend our time chatting about that.

"I wish I'd got vampire tips from him, I wish I'd gone, 'Oi, Bob mate, any tips?'" he says, in a mock British accent.

'Chain Letter' DVD Review

Breaking the chain isn't merely risky, it's downright deadly in this horror tale. Several high-school friends get the message in question, and anyone who doesn't pass it on faces a gruesome fate.

After several peers die, one student ( Nikki Reed, "Twilight") starts to suspect a bizarre force is at play. Keith David, Brad Dourif, Bai Ling and Betsy Russell (lately of the "Saw" series) also appear. ** (R and unrated versions: AS, P, GV) (Also on Blu-ray)

'New Moon' Director Chris Weitz Sells New Movie To 'Twilight' Fans

Even Bella would go see A Better Life...

Chris Weitz says that his new film A Better Life will appeal to fans of his Twilight Saga entry New Moon.

His latest project is a low-key drama that follows a gardener in East L.A. who struggles to keep his son away from gangs and immigration agents while traveling across town to perform landscaping work for the city's wealthy landowners.

The subject matter doesn’t immediately suggest mass teen appeal, but Weitz is keen not to alienate this lucrative market or anyone who may have discovered his work through New Moon.

Weitz said: "Look, let's be honest: There's not a single vampire, not a werewolf or star-crossed romance in sight. Jose is quite a heartthrob but just doesn't have Jacob's abs. Demian plays an amazing Dad but doesn't have to deal with quite the same issues as Charlie Swan.

”But if a fan of ‘Twilight’ came away from watching ‘New Moon’ with a sense that that movie has been done well by me and my crew, they might be interested in seeing another film that deals with some pretty intense feelings and, frankly, packs a tremendous emotional wallop.”

Not only that, but Bella Swan would like it too.

He added to Cinematical: “I’ll put it this way: I bet that Bella would go see ‘A Better Life.’ I bet she’d make the drive out to Port Angeles. And I bet she’d like it.”

The film is brought to us by Twilight Saga studio Summit and also shares a composer with New Moon in Alexandre Desplat. However, we're not sure there's a potential RPattz in there.

A Better Life stars Demián Bichir, Nancy Lenehan and Tim Griffin and is out later this year.

Emily Browning, Kristen Stewart vie for lead role in ‘Snow White’

Melbourne, Feb 1: The weekend saw both Emily Browning competing with Kristen Stewart for the lead role in ‘Snow White’ And ‘The Huntsman’.
According to stateside movie industry insiders, the Aussie actress, best known for her part in Lemony Snickets, went head to head with the Twilight megastar.

The pair screen-tested for the lead in the fairytale, which will centre around the Huntsman (rumoured to be Lord Of The Rings actor Viggo Mortensen) mentoring Snow White and protecting her from the Evil Queen, for which Charlize Theron is thought to have been approached, reports news.com.au.

Browning will next be seen in all-girl action epic SuckerPunch (for which she spent six months in stunt training) – releasing March 24.

Kristen Stewart to join Henry Cavill as Lois Lane in new Superman film?

Kristen Stewart could be cast as Lois Lane in the new Superman film (Reuters)

The Twilight star is up against Jessica Biel and Rachel McAdams, who have also been touted as leading contenders for the role by Hollywood Insider.

Glee star Dianna Agron and Watchmen's Malin Akerman are also up for the part of Clark Kent's love interest.

While Stewart is already being linked to the the role, she reportedly has so many film offers at the moment that she might not be able to say yes even if movie bosses wanted to cast her as Lois.

Agron has reportedly read for the new Superman movie although might be considered too young for the role while Akerman, 32, may be seen as too old for the part now that 27-year-old Cavill has been hired.

The new Superman film will be directed by Zack Snyder and start shooting in June for a December 2012 release.
